The folding scissors are light, and cut well enough for little emergency repairs. I wanted them for travel as they were very light. I found the contents of the kit ideal for putting into my suitcase, though I put the contents into a little bag so I didn't need to carry the metal tin. I also didn't pack the thimble as I'm not used to using one – is anyone these days-
