Description

B. G. Teubner Verlagsgesellschaft Stuttgart. Leipzig 1991 The present volume is based on lectures with the title "Introduction to analytical mechanics" given by FELIX KLEIN in the winter term 1886/87. KLEIN, who was also interested in physics, was able in his fIrst year in G6ttingen to achieve his long standing ambition to give such a course. Its content corresponds to a course for be ginners in the fIeld of theoretical mechanics. The text also impresses us today by its modem and clear representation and the many examples discussed. The manu script of KLEIN and above all the notes of his pupil F. POCKELS serve as the basis for this volume.
