James Gray was a professor of English at the University of Minnesota and served as literary editor for the Chicago Daily News and The St. Paul Pioneer Press-Dispatch. He is the author of On Second Thought (1946), the official centennial history of the University of Minnesota, 1851-1951 (1952), and Business Without Boundary: The Story of General Mills (1954), all published by the University of Minnesota Press.
