Description

THIS SCHMUL PUBLISHING CO. EDITION IS NOT A SCANNED FACSIMILE OF A USED BOOK. It has been carefully typeset and proofread for accuracy and for easier reading by today's readers. Consequently there are no odd characters or missing text.Life! That is the main theme of A.M. Hills throughout this book. The author's ministry was wide, and his chief influence was as a scholar-evangelist in the holiness movement. At the time of publication of "Dying to Live" he was the president of Texas Holiness University near Greenville, Texas (later merged into what became known for many years as Bethany Nazarene College). The book came about largely through the urging of W.B. Godbey, who heard Hills preach at the Revivalist camp at Cincinnati. Hills holds forth a wide view of the Christian life, but primarily he spotlights the need of heart holiness in order to truly live. He discusses the hopeless state of the unconverted, and shows the way to salvation through the blood of Jesus. He warns against resisting the Holy Spirit, and holds up the great gift of entire sanctification, proclaiming that "death to self" is the prerequisite to victorious living. It is a message that is still as viable in our day as it was in his.
