Wow! The amount of work and detail gone into this expansion pack is amazing.
With a host of new characters, spells, equipment, etc, it is a “must have”
for any Dungeon-head.
The new locations/levels are well crafted in terms of both design and visual
appearance – it's the sort of design that just begs you to go exploring
every nook and cranny. As mentioned, the level of textural detail is phenomenal
(have a close look at the pictures hanging on the walls) and adds immensely to
whatever environment you are in. There are also some nice humurous touches here
and there – nothing really side-splitting, but it does show the depth of
thought that has gone into this package.
Gameplay? Well, it's Dungeon Siege. Little has changed in terms of
controlling your character/party and seasoned campaigners will slot right into
Legends. One little quibble is that the amount of chests, boxes, vases, and
smashable items is rather insane… and you have to go for them all because you
just don't know where that next “goodie” will be. I found that rather
tiresome, particularly when juggling items in the inventory.
The voice acting in Legends is rather good. The diversity of voices is well
implemented with changes in style reflecting your journey from one region to
another. Your party characters now have voices as well which is fun for a while.
Try dismissing a charater from your party and hear what they have to say
about it.
Been considering a Dungeon Siege purchase? Then get this pack! It includes
the original DS game and this represents excellent value for money.
BEWARE!!! Whole days will vanish into thin air as you wander through
Legends… I hope you're on holidays :)
