This is an excellent edition of an excellent film. It has both the theatrical release and director's cut, along with other material.
Donnie Darko is the kind of film you will be thinking about long after you first see it, and repeated viewings mean more than just watching the same film again; they offer opportunities to see informative details you missed before and so piece together the story of the film more clearly. It's the kind of film that will reward further investigation with deeper layers of meaning.
One letdown is the subtitles. They are laughably inept. They are so often completely wrong as to make them useless. How someone got paid for doing them is beyond me. There's no effort to double-check such an element of a release before pressing-
A great film to own. Having both releases is a must.
