Desperate, Margaret indulges in drink while still pregnant, and when the child is born, she wanders the city not knowing what to do. She ends up leaving it in a dumpster. She repented, hours later, she goes in search of the child, who had already been found by Clementina and Leontina, God-fearing sisters. Desperate, Margaret walks into the first bar she sees and is kicked out for not having any money. She dies run over near the place where she abandoned her son. Not realizing that she had disincarnated, Margaret enlists the help of Felix, a companion of hers from her past lives, to understand what happened. Through intricate and surprising ways, Margaret's story is intertwined with Clementina's and other characters. The fate of Marcos Wellington, the son abandoned by one and adopted by the other, is just beginning to be traced. He will find love, but he will face social and racial prejudice, as well as jealousy, envy and revenge. He and other characters will also discover the true meaning of forgiveness and freedom of choice between them. The difficulties that life imposes will serve to show that the effort of the soul for the good always brings rewards. The greatest prize is the people conquered and with whom the true value of life is discovered.
