The debate over privatization in Africa versus redistribution of economic resources in an equitable manner is summarized in this comprehensive overview of the range, complexity and significance of the legal, economic and practical questions involved. Author Biography:

GERALD BISONG TANYI, a graduate of Yale Law School, is an attorney and counsellor at law in the New York offices of a leading Wall Street corporate law firm. Before Wall Street, Dr. Tanyi taught at the Faculty of Law and Economics, University of Yaounde, Cameroon and worked as a research fellow and intern with several financial organizations, including the Banque des d'Etats de l'Afrique Centrale (BEAC) in Yaounde and the prestigious Swiss private banking firm of Lombard, Odier & Cie in Geneva, Switzerland.
