Description

Daddy Why Am I A Threat A Story About Police Encounters tells the story about Brian Matthews a young black man who is suddenly questioned by a police officer. Instead of getting angry about the situation Brian remembers a conversation he had with his Dad about handling police encounters the RIGHT WAY. I wrote this book because I have three beautiful children and I'm very concerned about their safety. We live in a world where preconceived judgments about black and brown youth can lead to harassment or deadly encounters with law enforcement. But our young people have to realize that they will never win a battle on the streets with law enforcement, even if they feel they have been profiled. We have to teach our youth about handling every police encounter calmly and safely. I hope my book will help you and your children start a conversation about police encounters.
