Description

Soon to be a major motion picture, this book - first in the 'Black Experience' series - is a unique read/see experience. Goines has almost single-handedly created a new fictional genre that successfully expresses his gritty, true-to-life American thrillers. In Daddy Cool he presents a multifaceted, realistic fiction picture of the lives, choices and frustrations of underworld ghetto blacks. In this hellish wasteland Policemen shoot before asking questions and featureless faces are contorted by fear and hatred. Told with guts 'n' blood in Goine's rough and sticky way.

Author Biography

Donald Goines was born in Detroit, Michigan. He joined the U.S. Air Force instead of going into his family's dry cleaning business. While he was in prison, Goines wrote his first two novels, Dopefiend: The Story of a Black Junkie and Whoreson: The Story of a Ghetto Pimp. Goines was shot to death in 1974.
