The D-Link DGS-3324SRi operates as a high performance external switching fabric for the DES-3352SR and DGS-3324SR series stacking products. The “Star” architecture of the DGS-3324SRi offers many of the same advantages as traditional chassis based solutions such as dedicated bandwidth, removable flash memory system, optional redundant power and hot-swappability. Along with its high availability architecture, the DGS-3324SRi supports ASIC Based Layer 3 routing (RIPv1/v2, OSPF, and DVMRP), multi-layer traffic classification, and L2/L3/L4 Access Control Lists.

Performance
The DGS-3324SRi is a managed Layer 3, 24-Port managed 10/100/1000Mbps with 8 x Combo SFP modules. The DGS-3324SRi has a switching capacity of up to 168Gbps and supports 6 integrated, rear 10Gigabit-stacking ports. The DGS-3324SRi can be easily added to an existing stack of DGS-3324SRs and/or DES-3352SRs to improve stacking performance and reduce network latency, compared to traditional “ring stacking” architectures.

High Availability
The hardware and software features of the DGS-3324SRi work together to allow customers to build affordable, high performance, high availability networks. The removable flash memory system of the DGS-3324SRi dramatically simplifies complex deployments, upgrades, backups and replacement sparing. The DGS-3324SRi unit also supports D-Link’s optional Redundant Power Option--the DPS-500. Other features include support for RIPv1/v2, OSPF, DVMRP, 802.3ad (Link Aggregation), 802.1d (Spanning Tree), and 802.1w (Rapid Spanning Tree) for increased network reliability and availability.

Network Management
The DGS-3324SRi supports a variety of network management options including: console CLI, telnet, web, SNMPv1/v2/v3, RMON, TFTP, Port Mirroring, BootP and DHCP. The DGS-3324SRi also supports a variety of advanced traffic management options including: 802.1x, Bandwidth Control, Broadcast Rate Limiting, and support for IGMPv1/v2 Snooping.

Advanced Enterprise Features
The DGS-3324SRi implements a robust and consistent set of QoS/CoS, VLAN, and Security features. The DGS-3324SRi, DGS-3324SR, DES-3352SR switches support 8 priority queues for 802.1p/TOS/DiffServ, with classification and marking based on MAC SA/DA, IP SA/DA, and/or TCP/UDP port numbers. Security features include: 802.1x (port based authentication) 802.1x (MAC based authentication)1, Access Control Lists based on MAC address, IP address, and/or TCP/UDP port numbers. The DGS-3324SRi also has extensive support for GARP/GVRP, 802.1q, and port based VLans.
