A little disappointing that this DVD was a gift and was not wrapped in the plastic as the others I had ordered were. Just looked 2nd hand

Description

The sport of basketball is a window into other worlds, a celebration of culture and identity. Basketball’s presence over the past 50 years has exploded across all seven continents and onto thousands of courts. This game has transcended borders and nationalities to become a reflection of how we live our lives; regardless of where we play the game or what language we speak. The film’s use of spoken word poetry in place of traditional narration is designed to keep the storytelling connected, flowing, dancing - like the game itself. The complicated chore of interlocking verse with meaning and rhyme was achieved by some of the greatest young spoken word poets in America who contributed to the script, and their words are powerfully delivered by one of hip-hop’s greatest pioneers, Chuck D of Public Enemy.

Crossover is directed and produced by multi Emmy Award winning filmmakers Kip and Kern Konwiser, and Executive Produced by Magic Johnson and Penny Marshall. Filming for Crossover extended from across America to Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Africa and Asia. It covers the World Basketball Championships, NBA All Star weekend, the NBA draft and the Euroleague final Four in Barcelona as well as basketball camps in Italy, Africa and Tiawan not to mention dozens of playgrounds and neighborhood parks in every one of the countries visited.
