Description

Part travelogue and part social and political commentary, Cross-Country Chronicles offers an irreverent and often hilarious account of four separate roadtrips between New England and Arizona, highlighting art museums (from the renown to the obscure), national and local landmarks (and blights), and lodging and dining experiences ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous. So hop on board and enjoy the ride! (Not recommended for the faint-of-heart or, for that matter, Republicans.)

Author Biography:

Married with two children and three grandchildren, ARTHUR D. HITTNER and his wife divide their time between Oro Valley, Arizona and Natick, Massachusetts, road-tripping between locations twice a year in search of art and fodder for Art's irreverent daily narratives. The dissemination of the author's cross-country commentaries (and humorous accompanying photographs) have become a highly anticipated semi-annual event for a rapidly expanding list of friends and family members, many of whom have urged him to compile them in book form. So here they are. A retired attorney, Hittner spent nearly thirty-four years with the national law firm now known as Nixon Peabody LLC, resident in the firm's Boston office. He served as a trustee of Danforth Art (formerly the Danforth Museum of Art) in Framingham, Massachusetts and the Tucson Museum of Art in Tucson, Arizona. He spends most of his time writing fiction and art-related non-fiction.
