Description

A modern, epistemological view of failure investigation and analysis with an emphasis on metals alloys, and polymers. Professionals looking to deeply understand "why it failed" will appreciate new insights into a brittle versus ductile methodology. The book also covers soft skills such as scope negotiations, communications, reporting and more. And it also explores how to train our very human brains that have often lead a design or failure investigation astray. Whether you are a professional with years of experience or just starting out in your training/career, this book is worth keeping on your bookshelf for review and reference for years to come. It is loaded with images and case studies and examples. It's a true epistemological exploration of how we can determine, with confidence, if a part/component/or assemble failed and what was the sequence of events that contributed to that failure. best of what they do but written in such a way that it can be grasped by the student-in-training
