The CIA knows him as Condor. What he knows about them has just made him an Endangered Species.
Joseph Turner works for the C.I.A. analysing espionage novels to find plots that might be useful to investigators. Upon returning from lunch one day, he discovers with terror that his colleagues in the agency have all been ruthlessly murdered. Slowly a conspiracy inside the C.I.A. unfolds, and Turner takes it upon himself to expose the truth. Masterfully directed by Sydney Pollack, Three Days of the Condor is the story of one mans struggle to discover who are his friends, and who are his enemies.
Critic Reviews:
- " Bringing restraint and composure without skimping on the requisite tension and intrigue, Pollock builds a credible, character-led adventure. " – Adam Lowes (CineVue)
- " Makes you wish the makers – and especially the funders – of today's overblown big budget thrillers could be made to learn from some of the finer thrillers of the 1970s. " – Brian Webster (Apollo Guide)
- " Pollack excels by establishing an interesting situation, sustaining it, and–in keeping with the paranoid-thriller genre–resolving it on a pleasingly ambiguous note. " – Peter Canavese (Groucho Reviews)
