It's possible to have a successful career without ever having to be involved in a successful job or project. It's called "playing the corporate game" and today thousands of people out there are doing it. This book explains with wit, humour (and with all seriousness) how to win the new corporate game and how the mediocre can inherit the (business) earth. The City Slacker is the ultimate "yes" man: he never challenges superiors and he always seems to put the company first. But at the same time, he is cleverly undermining the boss, because promotion and a pay rise can't come soon enough. He will be armed with all the latest buzzwords, which will be rotated regularly to make him look well informed. Mature Slackers will be up to their necks in soft projects with high visibility (such as, redesigning the company's logo). The City Slacker is the rising star who's never put a foot wrong, but in truth he will never deliver anything. Sound good? A humourous exploration and guide to succeeding in your career - without having to work too hard. In the same guise as "Hello Laziness", this book provides an entertaining and alternative view to success at work. Lead title - funny, witty, but also serious, this book offers the millions of office workers a way out of the rut. With its offbeat humour and straightforward talk, this book will appeal strongly to non-traditional consumers of business books. Wide feature and review coverage is expected in magazines, national newspapers, and TV/radio, including serialisation in major magazine/newspaper.
