For many households, the annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols from Kings College Cambridge, inaugurated on Christmas Eve 1919, is an integral part of Christmas celebrations, but many of our best-loved carols date back as far as the 15th century. They are presented here alongside paintings from the National Gallery depicting the Christmas story, from the Nativity to the Adoration of the Magi.
