Description

John Whitcomb calls Isaiah 53 the greatest prophecy of the Old Testament. Of all the prophecies of the coming Messiah, none can quite compare to Isaiah's portrait of the Lord's Servant in His rejection, suffering, death, and resurrection. Dr. Whitcomb's careful exposition of this crucial prophetic passage is a valuable tool for all students of the Bible.

Author Biography:

For over sixty years John Whitcomb has taught courses on Bible prophecy, especially in the Old Testament books of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah and Malachi. He has authored two books that deal with prophecy - Daniel (Moody Press) and The Rapture and Beyond (Whitcomb Ministries) - as well as three prophetic time charts and several CD and DVD albums. For thirty-eight years he served as professor of theology and Old Testament at Grace Theological Seminary. An honors graduate of Princeton University (B.A., 1948) and Grace Theological Seminary (B.D., Th.M., Th.D.), he now serves as an ordained elder in the Conservative Grace Brethren Churches International and as President Emeritus of Whitcomb Ministries. In 2009, at the Pre-Trib Research Center in Dallas, Texas, he received the John F. Walvoord Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Prophetic Studies "in recognition of a lifetime of faithfulness to God by engaging in the study, proclamation, and defense of His prophetic word."
