We decided to research the submarines under development in China for the PLA Navy and found a lot of variation as to what the Type 96, Type 97 and Type 98 submarines would look like so we went with what was most recent. Although the specs are closely held secret, there were some clues. Anyway, this is what we think they will look like when they are finally built. We included information on Type 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 32, 35, 39 and Kilo submarines. The Type 32 is essentially a test bed for new technologies, but we included it for your information. The information contained in the book is believed to be factual, however there is a lot of disinformation on this subject in open source material, so we used our best judgement based on the best available information.
