Easy to fit, durable, kid took to it straight away.
Installation was super easy and the seat sits securely on our toilet. She absolutely loves it, and it's so handy not having to remove a kids training seat and store it somewhere when an adult wants to use the toilet. You just lift it up and the adults seat is underneath. She spent a good 20 minutes reading a book on it this morning, feeling like a grown up on the big toilet XD
It started when I watched How to Dad and he said for toilet training you should start on the actual toilet. So then I was looking for the toilet seat adaptor and I found these existed. So I looked all over the internet for one. Knowing my child if I’d got the adaptor it would’ve been carried all around the house, and either misplaced somewhere, or not used for the purpose it was designed. Like his potty currently gets used as a racing car, and only once in a whole year used for actual toileting.
This one looked like the best for the price. I did see one on a bargain overseas website for around NZ$40, but I was nervous it wouldn’t fit an NZ toilet, so I decided against it. Others were more expensive and I’m on a limited budget. This one is perfect, reasonably easy to fit, looks so smart, and great quality. I’ve had it on for two days now and my son has already asked to sit on it twice. He doesn’t even ask to sit on the potty that much, and cries if I try to talk him into it other times. I feel like finally that toilet training a resistant almost three year old is going to be a lot easier now. And it’ll be a lot nicer for him growing up too to have his own toilet seat, padded too. I was quite small as a child, and having to sit on an adult toilet seat from four years old wasn’t always easy. I seem to remember a few wooden ones I felt like I might fall in.
The only quibble I have about it is that the hole in the adult sized seat is a bit smaller than what I’m used to. Also a tip for beginners, the thread on the screws feels like it’s the wrong way. It seems to be standard for toilets, my other seat screws were the same, the hardest part was getting the old seat off before I realised. Think of it as if the toilet were upside down on the floor before installation of the toilet into the house, lefty-loosey righty-tighty works, but it feels strange when you’re leaning over the toilet unscrewing from the top.
The Childcare 2-in-1 Toilet Trainer offers a unique, space saving solution that provides convenient access to the toilet for both toddler and adult.
The soft padded child seat is ideal for toilet training. It is convenient, easy to use, comfortably padded and fits most standard toilets.
When not in use, the child seat stores neatly into the lid.
