I've played a lot of the DC deck building games and had loads of fun with that. Crossover Crisis is a nostalgia freight train with many old and new Cartoon Network characters making an appearence in this set. Thankfully, Adventure Time and Steven Universe were included here, the latter being a personal favourite of mine at the moment. That being said, this set is great fun, and is easy to learn and play. The victory points are easier to count up at the end from previous Cryptozoic card games, and the varying archetypes keep each game interesting and fresh. One pitfall from playing this set has to be some of the whacky effects to be dealt with, in the form of events and other character-specific effects, for eample forcing you to stand up from your chair for a turn, or play rock paper scissors to decide an effect. These do tend to take away from the intensity of the game, because it's for kids lest we forget. But if you do not mind dealing with these kinds of things, it is very easy to customise the rules and play it like any of the other Cryptozoic card games. All in all, if you are a fan of Cartoon Network characters, new and old, and have some interest in deck-building games, Crossover Crisis is a must have. However, if you don't really like deck-building games, then I would have to recommend something else, as nostalgia can only go so far if you do not enjoy the mechanics of a deck-building game like Crossover Crisis.
