Description

This book is a tribute to the human spirit and a true love story beyond bounds. It will stir your emotions and stick in your mind forever. It is the story of a privileged family who lived in 'Cambersholme Hall' which was a gift to the first Lord Pendlebury by a grateful Oliver Cromwell who at that time was the Prime Minister of England. The realities of living in a privileged society and the goings on of the Hall's residents and employees behind the scenes. The growing up of the two sons and their adventures in the Hall as children, the tragedy that befalls one of them and then the dalliances with the opposite sex as the elder son reaches manhood. His service in the second world war, when he is cohered in to joining the French Resistance Movement where he together with his fellow resistance fighter, the famous 'Heirisson' were captured and severely tortured by the notorious German Gestapo. Their eventual escape and repatriation to Britain and his follow up life as he comes to terms with the loss of his right leg below the knee. Further tragedy strikes the family and his struggle to overcome the odds against him and to bring up a successful family are his main aim. ADULT CONTENT: A warning to the readers that the sexual content in this book is very graphic and brutally honest.
