As dux of his school, Ronald must give a valedictory speech on "The Curse of Athletics". But this alienates the beautiful Mary—the woman of his dreams—driving her into the arms of sporty rival Jeff. Bookish Ronald must now head to college to prove himself on the sporting field. Featuring a litany of Keaton's famous physical gags and laugh-out-loud humour, Ronald takes on a part-time job and a variety of sports in the hope of winning Mary back.
