Description

One-third of your life is allocated to sleep, another third is dedicated to work, and the remaining time should be priceless. Unfortunately, all three areas are not managed well, if at all. Without a strategy to excel in life, you've been unmanageable to date. You rely on didactic learning and developing technical skills to pursue excellence. This is good, but more importantly, you need to be well-equipped to effectively maneuver through life's opportunities and challenges. Building the Best Version of You provides a strategy to achieve your goals, which we refer to as the Ten Principles for Success and Happiness. Each principle correlates to a chapter that helps you develop the Discipline to be consistently productive and the EQ to manage emotions, communicate effectively and manage relationships. You will also learn to train your mind to hold yourself accountable to attain your goals, operate with urgency, stop wasting time, manage your sleep, maintain a daily health regimen, excel in your career and manage your money. In fact, acing these principles is the be all end all to achieve self-mastery. Being disciplined and maturing your EQ will take you to new heights and the rewards are second-to-none. For example, imagine the feeling of seeing your awesome invention being sold like hotcakes on Amazon. Imagine having enough money to buy whatever you desire or how about doing something that positively impacts others. Stop and ask yourself, "How badly do you want to see your dreams become a reality?" This book simplifies the complexity of achieving success in every facet of your life into ten principles that you can understand and use right away. It is the proof not the hype. In fact, the lens through which you view the world will be Discipline.

Mr. Kern is one of the world's leading life and organization mentors. He's been mentoring people and organizations to attain the highest level of efficiency via discipline. Mr. Kern is a speaker at business, leadership and management conferences. He is also an acclaimed author and publisher of over 40 books, some of the titles include Going from Undisciplined to Self-Mastery and Live Like You Are Dying. He lives every day with a sense of urgency! He has been productive and successful for over five decades. He pushes himself extremely hard (by choice): - Exercises every day of the year - Traveled to every continent (except Antarctica) and hundreds of cities all over the world (some several times) - Manages several successful businesses - Graced the cover of Hot Rod magazine with his show car and speed boat at the age of 21 - Purchased his first home at the age of 19 in the San Francisco Bay Area - Trained his mind and body to sleep 4 hours a night - Financially set at the age of 38 Most people would consider his routine crazy and unhealthy, however Mr. Kern has mastered the ultimate level of discipline. He believes that the body and mind should be pushed to the max every day. The difference is he has the experience to do so; however, he would never push his clients in this manner unless of course this is their wish. His greatest assets are his caring demeanor, incomparable energy, and desire to help people manage their life effectively. A'ishah Khan is an author and speaker driven by a heart-felt belief that human connection is the key to making the world a better place. Her writing style evokes strong emotions in her readers, thanks to her innate ability to connect with the experiences of others. Described as a 'velvet brick', her message hits home hard with the softest of intentions. A'ishah's love of life can be warmly felt; a nurturing demeanor underscored with a strength brought about by her life experiences. With a curious mind that never rests, she has worked for over ten years as a pharmacist, writer, and public speaker, contributing to the conversation around mental health and well-being in many ways. A first generation American of Indian descent, she learned to read and write Urdu, Arabic and English as a toddler. Despite her love of language and earning multiple recognitions throughout her life, she decided to forgo writing and pursued the security of a career in pharmacy. After earning her doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Florida in 2007, she completed a residency at the James A. Haley VA Hospital. Here, she helped pioneer clinical pharmacy as the first pharmacist in charge of the 40-bed inpatient psychiatry unit. She also earned her Core Coaching and Mentoring Certification, along with training in TEACH principles and leadership classes. While she was able to maintain her love of writing through involvement in numerous pharmacy policies, articles, and journals, it was never quite enough. Along with her continued work as a clinical pharmacist specializing in mental health, A'ishah strives to use her voice for the betterment of others. Completing a journalism internship with a local news channel, she has brought her passion for writing together with her desire to impact lives through storytelling. She has presented national lectures on evidence-based strategies to support veterans with PTSD and explored integrative care through collaborations between physicians, pharmacists and psychologists. Her philanthropic efforts have also successfully raised over $100,000 for the construction of a state-of-the-art orphanage in Mali, Africa.
