I bought this to cut out repetitive parts for paper models. It is very good for that and it is very easy to use the downloadable software to design parts and set cut areas on scanned parts. Wifi transfer from PV to cutter very fast and simple. The cutter is very precise, impressively so. Even on multiple cuts where the part had been removed and reinserted it was still cutting along the exact same lines. The standard tack cutting sheet loses its stickiness pretty quickly and I am looking at using something like spray-on post-it adhesive to do the same job (cheaper than new sheets from Brother!!). Won't cut throuygh 1mm plasticard or cardstock but awesome for scoring for manual cutting or scribing shapes into the surface for later shading etc. Couldn't see any advantage for a modeller in teh 1200 over the 1000.
