Description

The epic fantasy world of Celtic, Norse, and Native American cultures continues in this action-packed third book of the Chronicles of Eirgalon. In realms which lay beyond domains of humankind, exist such beings called by mortals: "the gods." Be they gods or demons in human thoughts matters little, for truth be told, to some they may be gods and to some they may be demons. Be that as it may, at times they touch the human world, and in their touching they move and turn that world into different outcomes and alternate timelines. One of these beings was known as Gluskabi. The people of Eirgalon viewed him as a benevolent spirit who delighted in the passion and pathos of the people of the land. It was his touching of human history that resulted in the timeline of a mixed society of people descended from the first inhabitants of the land and the immigrants from eastern Celtic and Nordic lands. His alter-ego was a spirit called Lox. Lox's malevolence toward the human migrants from the east was palpable. So much so, that Lox manifested his evil intentions into the dream of a chosen one of the Haudenoshonee - Deganawida - and corrupted him to become Malsum. The Great Creator had intended Deganawida to be a great peacemaker for the people of Eirgalon, but Lox had twisted this man's vision quest to evil ways. The Land Beyond the Sunset and Search for the Loon's Necklace told the tale of how High King Skoth of Eirgalon and the legendary Ayenwatha, leader of the Mohak, had thwarted these designs. Together they had worked to join all the people of the land - Celtic, Norse, Wabanaki, Lenape, and Haudenoshonee - into one society. They had defeated and banished Malsum. However, while Lox was stymied; he was not destroyed. Malsum, his human incarnation, now set his sights upon the bearer of the Loon's Necklace, the one who could seal into permanence the timeline Gluskabi had intended. Brigit, daughter of Skoth, became his target. Malsum vowed to destroy her and to wreak havoc on Gluskabi's timeline. Born of blood, with the fire of life coursing through her veins, Brigit had been entrusted with the power of the Loon's Necklace. Should she live and learn to use its power, the people would grow and prosper. Should she fall to Lox - the people's future would flounder.
