Kareem Puranda is a subject matter expert on use of force encounters that create liabilities for both law enforcement and the community. He was involved in law enforcement for eight years. During this time, he went from being a well-received and respected officer to someone who suffered the scrutiny of facing several lawsuits and two indictments for using excessive force. He left law enforcement to become an agent of change. He returned to school to obtain credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Kareem has lived through experiences that he now shares in his book "Breaking The Code Of Silence: A Cop's Journey to Triumph and Truth" He has the professional and street credentials to communicate the challenges and the solutions.
