The index finger nib is a simple and precise script nib with a medium fine point and a large reserve of ink.
A relatively hard nib, good for monoline lettering, Old English or Cursive writing. Cursive writing is writing in which letters are formed and joined in a rapid flowing style. The choice of nib for cursive depends on the pressure exerted on the nib.
With a tense hand that exerts pressure, a harder nib is needed. If milder pressure is exerted, a softer nib can be used.
