Description

A New Adult historical romance novella based on the true story of real-life 18th-century gender-bending pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read. 'The sea has always felt like my true birthplace. It is where I found myself. It is where I found Mary.' New Providence, 1719. A fierce and fearless Anne Bonny joins Jack Rackham and the crew of pirate ship William, embarking on the adventure of a lifetime. Born of the Sea follows Anne as she cross-dresses, drinks and fights her way through the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy. But Anne's life is changed forever when she meets Mary Read, plotting a new course on a voyage of self-discovery.

Author Biography:

Kate Castle is the author of the historical romance novella 'Born of the Sea' and the soon-to-be-published novel 'Girl Island'. Kate's books fall into the New Adult and Young Adult romance and adventure categories. Kate is passionate about representing young queer females in literature and writes about fierce, independent, fluid young women - the kind of characters she wished she could have read more about growing up. She is a proud vocal champion of bisexual fiction (affectionately coined 'BiFi' by Kate) as an up-and-coming genre and continues to write in this exciting and original domain.
