Description

The ideal guide to planning the very best primary music lessons, for both new and experienced teachers. Bloomsbury Curriculum Basics: Teaching Primary Music provides an easy-to-follow framework for all teachers – whatever your level of musical experience – to help you teach pupils to perform, listen to and most importantly enjoy music across a range of genres, styles and traditions. With tried-and-tested activities and lesson plans for Key Stages 1 and 2, this engaging guide will help you refresh your music teaching practice. Experienced music practitioners Jimmy Rotheram and Andrew Davidson present ideas for singing games, instrumental play and activities to help pupils recognise musical features and perform music themselves, based on tried-and-tested techniques. From resourcing and planning to teaching lessons, this all-in-one guide covers all the curriculum requirements and is filled to the brim with activities and advice for creating and exploring music with your class. Bloomsbury Curriculum Basics provide all the subject knowledge you need to deliver the primary curriculum with confidence. Written by experts, each book includes engaging lesson plans for teachers to implement in the classroom or across the whole school, together with key vocabulary, useful links, cross-curricular activities and much more.
