Description

This book contains text by Konrad Bitterli, Bethan Huws, Maja Naef. The Welsh artist Bethan Huws works with language, installation, sculpture and drawing. She employs a juxtaposition of elements more or less suggestive of artistic traditions to produce unexpected links to our experience of daily life. Issues of cultural identity linked to personal memory are at the centre of Huws' work, which is suffused with subtle strands of poetry and humour. This publication, designed by the artist together with Peter Willberg, combines a catalogue section printed on gloss paper with a section presenting Huws' film work including storyboards, sketches and film stills. Published to accompany exhibitions at Bonnefantenmuseum, Maastricht and Kunstmuseum St. Gallen, this book also includes an interview with the artist by Julian Heynen. It features English and German text.
