Arthur Edwards is the man behind the lens of some of the most iconic royal
photographs of all
time. Now, after a 45 year career as The Sun·s royal photographer, he
benefits from unprecedented access to Britain·s best-loved family.
In this book, he delves into his archives to reveal the anecdotes behind the
scenes of his
pictures. From Princes William and Harry leaving hospital as newborn babies to
Princess Diana
in front of the Taj Mahal and the recent royal weddings of the princes to Kate
Middleton and
Meghan Markle, each of the sumptuous images in this book gives a glimpse into
the real life of its subject. Many of the images will be familiar, but the
stories behind them have never been told before.
A rich visual feast from a photographer who has become one of the family·s inner circle, this is a must-have book for any royal fan.
About the Author:
Arthur Edwards has been photographing the British royal family for The Sun
newspaper for nearly 40 years and is responsible for many of their most iconic
and intimate images (examples below). He came to royal photography by accident
in 1976 when he captured a “cracking shot” of a young Prince Charles in
action on the polo field, and has since become a royal favourite. Princess Diana
used to call him “Arthur,” while Prince Charles tells visiting dignitaries
that “Mr. Edwards has been with me for over 30 years.” In 2003 he was
awarded the prestigious MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for
outstanding service to newspapers. Mr. Edwards has covered more than
200 international royal tours in more than 120 countries, seven weddings, four
funerals and seven royal births.
