Description

In Beat the Boss you and three to six friends will take turns organizing a group of workers or community members to take part in the fight of their lives. You will identify the issues then plan and take the actions that will change the balance of power at work. Beat the Boss is a tabletop role playing game based on the Powered by the Apocalypse system that creates a space for activists to learn how to organize on the job. With a handful of six-sided dice, a pencil, a character sheet, and a group of friends, you can learn how to move people to action and take back their power. The game has been play tested with organizers, role players, and people who are new to both to make sure the rules and language work for as many people as possible. The second edition includes a full nine-stage organizing campaign where players can take the workers of Uncle Bob's Home for Oldies from first contact with organizers through contract negotiations. In addition to the book, the following materials are available for download at DriveThruRPG: * Character Sheets * NPC Sheets * Universal Moves * Boss Moves * Organizing Chart

Author Biography:

Doug Geisler has been slaying dragons in tabletop RPGs for four decades and beating bosses as a union organizer for more than twenty years. Those two are pretty much the same. He lives somewhere in Oregon with a person, three cats, and dog.
