Description

This volume is aimed at the practitioner and covers all the issues an operations manager has to address. Banking operations are variously developed from data entry and mass labour intensive processes, to highly automated process controlled environments. Many institutions still fall into the former category, whereas others are closer to the ideal. Dr Gerrit Jan van den Brink and a team of experienced contributors from the practitioner and academic world examine the current situation and extract best practice from a variety of situations. They look at trends in operations management, and at how operations link into risk and risk-adjusted performance measurement, and examine the impact of e-business and the internet on operational processes.

Author Biography:

DR GERRIT JAN VAN DEN BRINK is Managing Operational Risk Controller with the Dresdner Bank AG. He was previously an internal auditor, controller, IT Manager, CFO and Head of Operations with Rabobank in the Netherlands and Germany. He has also worked as a consultant in operational risk to German banks. Gerrit Jan van den Brink holds a PhD from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.
