Description

From the book's original and new authors comes the SECOND EDITION of Awakening to Aging. The updated edition takes a fresh look at the joys and challenges of aging. With focus on Baby Boomers and the family elders many are now caring for, this deeply insightful anthology of personal stories provides practical advice, wisdom, and compassion for the many complexities of growing older. Topics range from health issues and cognitive losses, caregiving, and finding a retirement home to ethical wills, the aid-in-dying controversy, and spirituality. "Awakening to Aging offers gently and thoughtfully what is natural, paradoxical and beautiful in aging. The words in this book resonate with the authenticity of experience and insight." (Myrtle Heery, PhD, co-editor)
