From the anime/manga series “Arpeggio of Blue Steel”, in which the Earth is greatly affected by global warming and much of the world's landmass has been submerged underwater and fleets of sentient sea warships wipe out the remaining human naval forces, naming themselves “The Fleet of Fog”. Each sentient warship has a human avatar.
Takao is a heavy cruiser, originally from the First Oriental Fleet of “Fleet of Fog”. After her defeat at the hands of Gunzou and I-401, she defects the “Fog”, eventually allying herself with Gunzou as the second vessel in “Blue Steel” fleet. From this point onward she becomes a major character of the series.
