We enjoyed playing Kingsport simply because it was a different kind of expansion and offered us another choice for gameplay. It does, however, really lock down a character in Kingsport as they constantly need to go through encounters there to help control the rift track. It worked for us because we had two players controlling a total of four characters but I'm not sure if I'd enjoy it as much if I was only playing one character.
