In June of 2020 the Siberian town of Verkhoyansk in Arctic Russia hit an astonishing 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit. Author Joe McLaughlin was so stunned by this event that he decided to write book 6 in the Alfredo Gomez series, Arctic Heatwave. In book six, boxing hero Alfredo Gomez and his wife and friends visit Verkhoyansk and experience the heatwave firsthand. But the heatwave is not all they must face.
