Grigson paints a vivid and human picture of rural life in the preceding centuries and creates a delicate weave of social history.

Author Biography:

Geoffrey Grigson (1905 to 1985) was a poet, writer, editor, critic, curator and naturalist. He was editor of the influential New Verse magazine and was a founder of the Institute for Contemporary Arts.
