"Without a doubt Kelly Clarkson has one of the best voices in the industry and is extremely gifted musically. However for some My December was too much to soon moving away from her largely top 40 audience. With all the controversy and lack of promotion surrounding My December Kelly Clarkson had a tough time in the industry with cancelled tours, weight publicly slagged by the media and record label deputes.
Two years after all this Kelly Clarkson returns back to her pop roots with All I Ever Wanted. "My Life Would Suck Without You” has hit number one in both the UK and US charts and shows a return of one of pops best.
One of Kelly Clarkson's main musical gifts is her ability and variety in genres which is again shown on All I Ever Wanted. Such as pop track hits “I Do Not Hook Up”; “My Life Would Suck Without You” and “Don't Let Me Stop You”. The album also includes an upbeat almost techno track “If I Can't Have You”; and punk rock track “Whyyawannabringmedown.”
Kelly again prospers in All I Ever Wanted where she writes or co-writes her own tracks, she brings out such emotion in tracks that have meaning to her such as (Because of You, Never Again, Irvine). She again shows this in “Cry” which is beautiful country waltz ballad written with My December's Aben Eubanks that will no doubt be in the next titanic movie.
One thing that seems to be lacking in All I Ever Wanted is simply Kelly Clarkson herself and the personally and the emotion that we all love. It feels the producers have got there way this time and turned Kelly into what they want her to be. Six of the 14 tracks are covers on full demos such as two tracks from Katy Perry. The four tracks produced with Ryan Tedder lack originality from Ryan himself. They are all fantastic songs such as “Already Gone” which is beautiful and one of the albums picks but the beat sounds identical to Halo by Beyonce which was also produced by Tedder himself. “If I Can't Have You” also sounds almost exactly like the intro to Fly On the Wall by Miley Cirrus. Tip of My Tongue however breaks this trend and is Kelly's best effort of R&B to date which should have been put onto the original track listing.

Kelly Clarkson is one of the nicest, sincere artists you will ever meet and she deserves any success that comes her way. Most will feel satisfied with All I Ever Wanted which certainly packs some top 40 hits and keeps most of the Kelly we all know and love.
We will certainly be hearing from Kelly Clarkson again, who is proving to be a true pop legend.
