Description

In this collection of poems and her life story Stephanie Ellis shares her personal story as a single mother and how she endured and surpassed the worst of life's hardships. Everything around her was falling apart but she remained resilient, and it was her hope that served as her shield. All of us are fighting a hard battle in life every single day. Hope is the one thing that keeps us going. It's like the candle that serves as our light in the dark. It's what fuels our body and soul to keep believing and keep trying to make things better. We need to learn that no matter what there is always hope. God always has a plan and creates a path for us out of our darkest hours Always remember when there is nothing else there is always HOPE

Author Biography:

I'm a Single Mother of three beautiful children, my son 19 years of age, Blaine Austin Williams, I have fraternal twins McKayla and McKenzie. I grew up in Houston, Texas but my foundation was built in Angleton, Texas and Navasota, Texas. My parents are divorce. My parents are from the country. I was able to grab hold to some of their values, morals, strength, survival skills, stillness and perseverance. I have three sisters and one brother. My life has been full of rejection, fear, welfare denials, housing and down to my last $5.00. I grab my pen and paper and began to write letters myself and asking myself deep soulful questions. I knew I had been playing small with my gifts and talents. I always excel at anything I've tried to do. Because, I trust God with everything. Hope was always there to pull me out. Being a rape victim it was God who comfort me. Being a broken single mother it was God who gave me comfort, strength, guidance, protection, provided and a fresh new start. I thought I had to a Degree to succeed in life to go to my next level. To become an artist. This is what I heard all the time. I didn't have the education or the correct grammar but I was born with a gift. God always showed up. God has created something new inside of me. He knew I was full of knowledge, full of answers to pull people out of darkness. I heard a quote from Lisa Nichols, you're more than enough, right where you're are. I decided to pick up my cross and write my story of freedom.
