But Landon hates fighting and hates the dark void of space. For a loner like Landon, the only good part of his new life in the military are the friends he's made. When a mission goes horribly wrong, Landon finds himself a prisoner of Earth's enemies - the brutal animalistic Sorg aliens and the technologically superior and ethereal Hush. Both see the same potential in Landon that Earth commanders saw- Landon's height and strength, the body of a warrior. Now Landon must decide if his loyalty lies with his friends and his home world, or with the austere and beautiful young Hush commander he has come to admire.
