Description

Much has been written about healthcare for older people, but the ageing process affects people of all ages. Ageing, rather than old people, has recieved scant attention within healthcare literature. This book address this paucity. It explores key perspectives of the ageing process. Ageing and old age are not necessarily synonymous. Ageing is a complex multi-faceted concept and therefore is explored through three different perspectives: chronological, sociological and physiological. Although the majority of chapter authors are nurses, topics covered in this book extend beyond purely nursing issues.
