Description

In the comical finale of The Oates Trilogy, all characters from the previous two books - Bali & Oates and Vietnamnesia - amazingly find themselves in Malaysia. Former Prime Minister Nigel Rushworth (now demoted to High Commissioner to Brunei) and Samantha Oates (still Ambassador to Vietnam) are reluctantly attending an international APEC conference. Both sense impending calamities when spotting former adversaries Ryan Bloody Blake and JB at the Kuala Lumpur airport. And at the same time a group of radical youths under the banner of FRACAS end up travelling around Malaysia with some unwanted Afghans. Once more - and for the final time - Samantha, Amy and Viv have to resolve the mess, although not everyone knows why APEC guests are leaving the conference in droves, how Dave ended up running a bar in Penang, and what Samantha will say when meeting the dishy new Foreign Minister of Australia.

Author Biography:

I have written 30 guidebooks for Lonely Planet and, more recently, wrote the 'Travel Pack: Bali & Lombok' guidebook and the 'Journey Through Bali & Lombok' photobook for Tuttle/Periplus. My love of Bali continues with my first novel, 'Bali & Oates' (JoJo Publishing), and the self-published 'Bali Billy', an hilarious tale of a middle-aged couple who escape their adult children still living with them by running away from home to set up a guesthouse in Bali. 'Bali & Oates' is the first in a trilogy, and is followed by the self-published sequels 'Vietnamnesia' and 'Afghans & Malaise'. In addition, I have written two novellas: 'Heaven Nor Hell' (a comedy-drama about the Vatican and The Eternal Drug); and 'Cinnamon Sweat' (a quirky comedy about an '70s rock band stuck in the outback). I also wrote a short film, 'Class Act', and was shortlisted for an award for my one-act drama, 'A Halt in Play'. I now enjoy making film clips, posting over 1000 on YouTube through a series of channels called '... in a Minute' about Bali, Malaysia and South Australia. I am based in Mannum, South Australia, and available through www.paulgreenway.net
