Description

Adult Protection and the Law in Scotland is an authoritative resource for professionals trying to navigate the complex framework of adult protection law and practice. The third edition includes legislative developments arising from the Mental Health (Scotland) Act 2015 and the Self-directed support (Scotland) Act 2013. It covers the new revised Code of Practice being introduced to the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007. The purpose of which is to ensure Adult Support and Protection guidance takes account of policy and practice developments since the Act was introduced in 2007, and thus bring the guidance up to date with current legislation and relevant changes in policy. This title also covers Court Measures of Protection with practical information on preparation for adult protection hearings, drafting applications, addressing sheriffs, use of temporary orders, warrants for arrest and remedies for breach of orders including a new section on contempt of court.
