Adam Resurrected
Based on the novel by Yoram Kaniuk, Adam Resurrected centres on former circus clown Adam Stein who was spared the gas chamber so that he might entertain thousands of other Jews as they marched to their deaths.
Stein is now the ringleader at an asylum in the Negev desert populated solely by Holocaust survivors. Alternately more brilliant than the doctors and more insane than any of the patients, Adam struggles wildly to make sense of a world in which the line between sanity and madness has been irreversibly blurred.
Critic Reviews:
- " Goldblum gives a powerful performance in this film. His is one of the best performances by any actor in any film released in 2008. " – Robert Roten
- " A film of insanity, cruelty and living life when the thrill is gone, “Adam Resurrected” tells a powerful story---for viewers tough enough to take it. One of Jeff Goldblum's best performances and stand-up supporting work by Willem Dafoe. " – Ron Wilkinson
- " Jeff Goldblum transforms even his lanky befuddlement into tall dignity here and ends up giving the intellectually mature performance of his career. " – Donald J. Levit
