This movie brilliantly captures ABBA mania (aliken to The Beatle mania a
decade before) in Australia during the height of their popularity there.
The film was directorial feature film debut for Lasse Hallstrom, who
previously recorded most of the group's music videos. Later he went on to do
feature films “My Life As A Dog”, “Chocolat”, “Casanova” among
others.
The main emphasis are the concerts across Australia with a weak plot to tie
them together, forgo that and you have historical record of the shows and behind
the scenes. Still watchable and enjoyable, but don't expect an uninterrupted
complete concert, just a mishmash of them.
The butterfly effect was the first used in any movie and later appeared in
“Superman – The Movie”.
