Description

Sparks fly when a hard-working rancher takes a rebellious inner-city youth under his wing on the rough road to redemption. Vicente Zermeno is like too many other kids today, a young man being pulled ever deeper into the whirlpool of drugs and violence that is gang life on the dangerous streets of East L.A. Fearing for his life, his frustrated parents make one last, desperate move--they call a relative in New Mexico. They hope shipping the boy to the country might bring him to his senses and save his life. Sullen and defiant, Vicente is none too happy with this new arrangement, and fights it every step of the way. When things turn ugly, Ricky Richardson steps in and offers to have the boy come work on his ranch. The wide open spaces of West Texas cattle country should be the perfect place for Vicente to find himself and start anew. The only question is, will he? A heartwrenching story of a young man's past and uncertain future, of individuals trying to find the good amidst so much bad, and of a family's coming to terms with the way things are, no matter how much they wish they could be different.
