Description

The sunflower fields of the 806 acre Draper Wildlife Management Area near McConnells, SC are an annual pilgrimage and delight for local photographers and models. All of whom come together with fellow creatives trying to compose the best images possible. They come knowing that is not a journey for the faint hearted as summer temps reach into the upper 90's and the threat of storm, heat exhaustion and lack of shade are very real. For a few weeks every summer you can find at least 20 acres of bright yellow happiness blooming from the parched red Carolina soil. This photo book details some of the more impressive images I have taken over the years and the people who helped to create them. - Louis Jones
