Author Biography:

Allan Gotthelf was Anthem Foundation Distinguished Fellowat Rutgers University, USA, and emeritus Professor of Philosophy atThe College of New Jersey. For nine years he was a visitingprofessor of History and Philosophy of Science at the University ofPittsburgh. His influential papers on Aristotle are collected inTeleology, First Principles, and Scientific Method inAristotle s Biology (2012). He was Secretary of the AynRand Society (a professional group affiliated with the AmericanPhilosophical Association) and the primary editor of itsPhilosophical Studies series. Gregory Salmieri is Visiting Fellow in the Department ofPhilosophy at Boston University, USA, and Co-Secretary of the AynRand Society. He has taught philosophy at Boston University and TheUniversity of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and has published onAristotle s epistemology and ethics and on Rand sphilosophy and novels. His current projects include a monograph onAristotle s epistemology and an edited multi-authorcollection on the same subject.
